wELCOME TO STUDIO ART
The middle school Art Department bridges the gap between elementary and high school. Its function is to continue to develop the students' creative abilities, instill an enthusiasm and appreciation of the visual arts, and to develop the skills necessary for self-expression.
Through art experiences, a student continues to build skills such as critical thinking and creative problem-solving. They will also develop an understanding of the connections between art and their core academic classes. Art is a confidence and creative thinking building process that can provide the student with a greater self-confidence - thus greater self-esteem.

Student Art Kit(s).
Suggestions for student artist to add to their personal materials and tools used for a richer experience for the start of the school year to supplement classroom supply. Any combination of the following: individual sketchbook, their own set of sketching pencils, set of paint brushes, erasers and pencil sharpeners, student preferences. |
Classroom supplies will be shared to provide the basic material needs of all students, yet it is encouraged that each student have a personal set of tools to explore their unique artistic talent. |
Art supplies and sketchbooks are stored in the art room as a practice of proper care and maintenance. However all personal items purchased and distributed to students will be returned to the student at the end of the term/year. Public schools provide supplies required for academic success. The items of the art kit(s) represent optional supplementary items which you may supply to your student at your discretion.
